The Otakar Kraus Music Trust
Who we are
OKMT provides music therapy and music projects for hundreds of people of all ages in South West London who have physical, psychological, learning or neurological difficulties, in order to improve their well-being and quality of life.
We help toddlers and young children with additional needs and run a Music School where 50 children and young people with disabilities are learning to play a musical instrument and perform in our concerts, bringing joy to the community. Now we have started an inclusive OK Youth Choir for children and young people with additional needs and their siblings.
"OKMT offers a wonderful, supportive, space for my child to develop music skills. We feel grateful for the light it has brought into our lives."
We also run groups for young people with mental health issues, adults who have suffered a stroke, and elderly people with dementia.
We are dedicated to making a difference to society's most vulnerable people who are often excluded from community activities, helping them to reach their potential.
"When J was first diagnosed with autism the music sessions were a ray of hope and positivity."
