Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme (CCBS) is a registered charity. Established in 2004 CCBS supports children and young people with disabilities, their families and their siblings through activity clubs, holiday clubs and residential breaks. Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme provides a number of different activity clubs to meet the needs of disabled children and young people living in Cheshire East aged 8-21 years. We support over 100 disabled children who have a range of abilities and disabilities. We run clubs which are designed to meet the individual needs of disabled children including children with complex needs. There are a number of benefits to children and young people attending CCBS activities including: Making friends Meeting and being with friends Having fun in a safe environment Developing new skills eg. cooking, gardening, making friends, playing with others Improving existing skills eg. communication skills and social skills Increasing confidence and self esteem Visiting new places, trying different things - gaining new experiences and opportunities Benefits to parent carers: Short respite break from the child or young person Peace of mind knowing that your child or young person is with friends having fun Peace of mind knowing that your child is developing new skills, confidence and self esteem Peace of mind knowing that your child is in a safe supportive environment
