Global Hope Network International, UK
Who we are
GHNI is a small humanitarian aid and development agency which works in some of the least developed countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, mobilizing support for projects and staff through national agencies in the UK, USA and Switzerland.
We respond to emergency crises, providing food, clothing and medicines, especially in the Middle East where we are helping many refugee families. We also promote long term development in often remote rural villages, giving them the knowledge and skills needed to bring about lasting change, taking responsibility for their own needs as far as they can and avoiding a dependency culture. Using tested Transformational Community Development programmes, we focus particularly on the need for water, food, education, income generation and wellness.
We also work with the governments in the countries where we work, without whose cooperation sustainable development is unachievable. The Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy brings such national leaders together, enabling them to develop policies that will promote investment in their poorest communities, to give them a future and a hope.
In the UK, we raise awareness of all these aspects of our work, currently supporting development programmes in the Middle East, Armenia, Myanmar and West Africa.
