BDA Benevolent Fund

Who we are

The UK Charity supporting dental students, dentist and their families in hardship.

We provide support for members of the dental profession; whether they are in training; have left the profession; retired or still working. The majority of applicants are of working age or are undergraduate students who need a helping hand to get them through a tough time and when they can't afford their basic living costs.

Our support often takes the form of grants (gifts of money) towards essential personal expenditure such as rent/ mortgage, and general food and living costs and contributions towards bills and travel.

We also help current Dentist registrants support to enable them to become financially independent again. This can be helping with with funds towards CPD, their Annual Retention Fee and contributions towards their indemnity for a period of time.

We supplement our core work by having additional assistance with mental health and wellbeing through a partnership with Health Assured. This can be through their app, a 24/7 helpline and online resources.

You don't need to be a BDA member to qualify for assistance.
