Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals has been supporting the NHS across the city for almost 70 years.

The charity raises and distributes money for medical equipment and services ranging from state of the art technology to portable ECG machines which reduce the pressure on A&E.  We provide capital for projects such as a garden and outdoor gym equipment at Mill View Hospital to help mentally ill patients in their recovery.

In addition to our on-going work with Small Acts of Friendship, the Friends have recently helped create new posts and funding for specialist cardiac nurses.

UPDATE:   Today we are all facing challenges we have never seen before, none more so than the front-line staff caring for everyone in a way that is truly heroic. We are proud to be associated with them.

Chairman Glynn Jones writes:  I am pleased to say we have managed to remain open and active during the Covid-19 crisis, and through Small Acts of Friendship have distributed gifts from Waitrose to elderly patients both in hospital and in the community.  We have also supported an emergency request from Mill View hospital to enable isolating patients to stay connected and entertained online and provided free drinks and snacks for staff in the elderly care wards at Royal Sussex County Hospital and Park Centre for Breast Care.
