West Berkshire Neurological Alliance
Who we are
We represent all people in Berkshire West affected by a neurological condition.
WBNA is an award winning group, twice nominated for the Queen’s Award for Volunteering and also a 2008 Health & Social Care Awards winner, successfully influencing health and social care service, structure and quality in Berkshire regionally and nationally since 1999. Our members include over 25 local voluntary groups, also some individuals with rare conditions without access to a local support group. Member interests come from across the spectrum of neurological conditions, including MS, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Motor Neurone Disease, ME/CFS, Stroke, Alzheimer’s, groups such as Mencap, ASBAH, Headway and many others. We conduct meaningful, high quality research into local health and social care needs.
We represent on the local NHS Long Term Conditions Board, Neuro Steering Group and similar fora, and work with many other local groups, including helping to set up a local Independent Living Network and forming a Social Enterprise to create hydrotherapy facilities near Newbury.
