Hillingdon Women's Centre
Homepage
The Hillingdon Women’s Centre is dedicated to promoting the empowerment of women through friendship, opportunity, practical support and advice.
Hillingdon Women’s Centre has been supporting and empowering women for over 30 years, and also encourages service user involvement in the development of its groups, activities and services.
The charity is open to women aged 18 and over with any issue; of which the greatest demand is for those relating to domestic violence, sexual abuse, exploitation, housing/homelessness, mental health, poverty, isolation, language and culture.
It is the only centre of its kind in the local area and primarily offers a holistic IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) approach to empower women to improve their own lives; with emotional support groups and one to one services to help them reach their potential.
Domestic violence in the UK is estimated to cost victims, services and the state a total of around £23 billion a year, with charities taking a significant and rising role.
