Who we are

Friends of Chernobyl's Children – Medway

Friends of Chernobyl's Children Medway funds yearly recuperative visits of one month for disadvantaged Belarusian children (aged between seven and twelve) from the areas still devastated by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. During their stay, the children receive dental, eye and other health check-ups and are placed in loving homes with host families for temporary recuperative care. Each weekday the children attend a centre where they enjoy a wide range of daily activities that meet their social, health and educational needs. While the children are in the UK, the Charity gives the children an opportunity to experience many new, exciting and fun activities that would not be available to them in Belarus. These experiences will remain with the children for life. All money donated is used directly to support FOCC Medway's objectives and there are no paid officials in any part of the Charity. Please donate to support our cause to enable us to continue to bring the children to the UK for four weeks free from contaminated food and water and the ability to breathe fresh, clean air, giving their bodies respite from this ongoing tragedy.
