Samaritans of Stockport

Samaritans of Stockport

Who we are

Stockport Samaritans
are highly trained volunteers. We provide emotional support to over 22,000 people a year. People contact us by telephone, text message and email.

Callers use our service because they know we listen.
We offer this support 24/7 every day of the year.

We are non-judgmental and we give people time to talk through their concerns, worries and troubles.

Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis. We prefer to talk to people before they hit a very low point. People ring us with a wide range of problems.

There are 100 volunteers in our Branch.

We cover Stockport and the surrounding areas.
There are 25-30 suicides a year in Stockport.

We need to raise £22,000 annually to run our service. We proactively tell our local community about Samaritans and we recruit and train new volunteers every year. We fundraise through supermarket collections, quizzes and personal donations.

We are grateful to all donors.

Please consider making a regular donation if you can.
