Who we are
Access to justice for the East End Community
We’ve supported our community in London’s East End since 1975, providing advice and representation in housing, immigration/asylum and welfare benefits law.
We believe in social justice. Nobody should be denied their rights just because they are poor, vulnerable or lack education, so we stand up for them. We help people fleeing persecution overseas to be granted asylum in this country. We help to reunite families separated by international borders. We help women escape violence at home. We fight to prevent people from being unfairly evicted. We help people living in unsafe and unhealthy homes to make their landlords repair them. We help homeless people win a home. We help make sure people get the welfare benefits they are entitled to. They include some of the most vulnerable members of society who are fearful and desperate after losing their only source of income. Cuts to Legal Aid have severely dented but not destroyed the service we provide. Now, with just five full-time staff and ten part-timers, we still help almost 1,500 people a year. We would like to do more - and with your help, we will.
