Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS) is a registered charity made up entirely of unpaid volunteers providing an out of hours transport service to NHS hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Lincolnshire, (and sometimes beyond). This service is provided completely free of charge.

Our team transports anything of an urgent medical nature that is required for the clinical care of an NHS patient, this usually consists of blood, pathology & microbiology specimens, medical notes, pharmaceutical products and donor breast milk for the benefit of premature babies.

Our volunteers also transport a ‘golden hour’ box of blood from Lincoln County Hospital to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA) base at RAF Waddington on a daily basis. This blood can then be administered by the doctors and paramedics on board, potentially saving the lives of critically ill patients.
