Who we are
South London Inclusive Dance Experience (SLiDE) creates engaging opportunities for people to participate in dance. We run projects with children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, people with Parkinson’s disease and elders. We also have an intergenerational performance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers aged 18-64. Our values are accessibility, collaboration, creativity, quality and play and these are present in our classes and performances.
We work in partnership with The Brit School, Sutton College, Crystal Palace Football Foundation, Croydon Council and Parkinson's UK and our partners help us to engage with over 600 people each year.
‘My daughter absolutely loves SLIDE, it is the highlight of her week! The sessions give her freedom to dance, participate and express herself. Not only is it a wonderful form of physical activity, it is also a place where she has made lots of new friends. Slide has brought so many positives to her life and I can honestly say that it has changed her life. I am so grateful for all the work that Gemma and her team put in, so a huge thank you to you all’, parent of a youth company member.
