RDA North West Region
Who we are
The Riding for Disabled Association (RDA) enriches the lives of disabled adults and children through horses, and activities such as riding and carriage driving.
The RDA North West Region, through its team of Regional and County Representatives, supports around 25 RDA Groups within Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. These individual Groups have a total of over 1,250 volunteers who enable over 1,300 people to ride or carriage drive each year.
The representatives regularly visit Groups and provide a vital link between local Groups and the RDA UK Charity National Office. Advice and support is provided including the provision of training for coaches and volunteers; publicity through the annual publication of the RDA NW News; Equine and Physiotherapy support; Fund raising and promotional events as well as Local, Regional and National Competitions and Awards. Assistance is also given on the set up of entirely new RDA Groups to help with the high demand in the Region.
Each year the Region organises and supports the Regional Show, which includes qualifiers for the National RDA Championships; the Regional Conference; Regional Dressage Training and the Region’s Riding Holiday which all are very much enjoyed by participants and volunteers of different Groups throughout the North West Region.
The RDA North West Region operates under the umbrella of RDA UK (Charity Number 244108), however, as a Region we fundraise independently for the funds needed to undertake the work we do.
All donations make a huge difference and we are so grateful for your support.
