Who we are

We’ve launched a campaign to commission, fund and erect a statue of Virginia Woolf in Richmond-on-Thames where she lived with her husband Leonard from 1914 to 1924. Virginia developed as a writer and wrote short stories, essays, reviews and novels while living in Richmond. She worked with Leonard, her husband, to set up the Hogarth Press in Richmond publishing works by T.S. Eliot, Katherine Mansfield and E.M. Forster among many others.

Named as a 20th century icon by the BBC, not only for her literary contribution, but also for standing up for women's rights, speaking out about mental illness and her same-sex relationship with Vita Sackville-West, the absence of a statue honoring her achievements in the United Kingdom needs to be remedied.

For 25 years, we have worked with creative arts practitioners, filmmakers, musicians and writers to create high quality arts projects.

We also train volunteers and engage members of the local community in our work.

Please support this important project and help us put more statues of real women into public spaces.
