Hook Norton Baptist Church

Hook Norton Baptist Church

Who we are

Baptists have been a part of Hook Norton's history since 1644. The chapel having been built in 1718 and rebuilt in 1787. This early period of the church's story also illustrates a turbulent period in English history from the Civil War to the early 18th century, with many early members of the church in Hook Norton excommunicated, and even imprisoned for their beliefs. In time this church in Hook Norton would go on to form one of the first associations of Baptist churches in Great Britain, as well as a central part of village life.

We are proud of this heritage but we also look to the present and future with our mission to serve the surrounding communities whilst reaching out with the gospel.

Our current activities have been impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak and the restrictions that we are currently operating under, however, we would normally provide:-

Weekly - Sunday morning worship, Still Waters Café, Youth Group, Stay and Play Parent and Toddler Group.

Monthly - Lunch Club

We would also have a number of entertaining Saturday evenings with concerts, vairety shows, film nights as we raise funds for the various causes we support around the world.

If you feel led to, please make a donation or start fundraising so we can continue to provide Christian service to the surrounding communities of Hook Norton!

We also have a campaign to raise funds for our chapel renovation.
