Future Pillars (Zambia)

Who we are

Future Pillars (Zambia) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (number 1173534) registered in June 2017 to support the life-changing work going on in one school in Kabwe, Central Province, Zambia. Future Pillars took over this work from CONTESA, a charity which had been working for the previous 12 years to support AIDS orphans in Zambia. Our stated objectives are to advance education, relieve poverty and promote and protect good health for the public benefit of children in Zambia who are socially and economically disadvantaged. Our mission is to empower vulnerable children (many of whom are orphans) by providing food, education and vocational skills training. Where necessary and affordable we will also offer basic housing. Future Pillars will continue to support the existing programmes at Kabwe, where over 1,000 children and young people are currently receiving food, education and skills training in order to move from poverty to a better and sustainable future for themselves and their families. Some have already achieved that goal and become qualified teachers, electricians, carpenters and so on. This needs to continue. The children are there, the need is great, how can we let them down? Future Pillars pledge that 100% of donations will go directly and only for the support of the children in the programmes. We work as volunteers from home and cover administrative and travel costs ourselves.
