Who we are

National Zoological Society of Wales Appeal

Your Zoo Needs You

As our supporters will know, we made the incredibly hard decision to close our gates on Sunday 22 March to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and the wider community in this current COVID-19 crisis.

There’s no doubt that these are challenging times for all us, but this crisis is one of the worst the National Zoo of Wales has ever faced in its 57-year history.

Whilst the gates are closed, our dedicated and hard-working team are continuing to provide the best care for our amazing animals, as they always do. However, with 140 species to care for and reduced running costs still in excess of £118,000 per month, the National Zoological Society of Wales (our Charity), really does need your support.

No visitors to the Zoo means no income for the Charity. If you can, please help us to secure the future of the Zoo by making a donation. Whether you give a little or give a lot, the support you provide will help us to continue the care for our animals and throw our gates back open at the end of this crisis.

Your ongoing support has been, and will continue to be, so greatly received.
