There has been a Catholic presence in Newport for many years. The oldest church within the Parish is St Mary's on Stow Hill, and this is the second church - built in the 1830s/40s. . The Catholic Church has been at the heart of Newport for at least 190 years, and it is a presence that has endured so much. The Chartist Riots, two world wars, and now the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Parish finds itself without its main source of income. However, the All Saint's Pastoral Team, under the leadership of Fr Michael, will continue to offer support to all parishioners who need it, the liturgical life of the parish continues, even with some added extras, available via livestream at: https://www.youtube.com/c/CatholicNewport
