The Royal National College For The Blind
Homepage
The Royal National College for the Blind helps young people with visual impairment (VI) from across the UK to succeed in a sighted world. Each year around 80 students between 16-25 attend the RNC's residential college based on a campus in Hereford. Here they study for a wide range of qualifications including GCSEs and A levels, access vocational training such as Massage Therapy and Personal Training as well as learn essential independent living skills. The college also has excellent sports facilities on site where some of the students train to national level and beyond eg paralympicin blind football, strongman, cycling and othe sports, and many community sports groups including those with disabilities also access our facilitie
Our students also have access to some of the best possible extra curricular activities and life experiences, such as Duke of Edinburgh, languages exchanges, getting them ready for their next steps - whether that's university, work, volunteering or more.
The college supports students in accessing statutory funding for their places but this is increasingly challenging and it must fundraise for all of the extra curruciular experiences, specialist equipment including IT for people with VI as technology is developing fast. Extra funds are vital in giving our young people a truly enriching experience while they are with us, equipping them for a lifetime of possibilities ahead. Thanks for supporting RNC!
