West London Kidney Patients Association

Who we are

We are a charity run by volunteer kidney patients, their families, friends & carers with support from staff of the Imperial College Renal and Transplant Centre. What we do: We provide information through our quarterly newsletter to all members; Fundraise to enable us to fund the purchase of non-medical equipment for renal units; Provide welfare grants to individual members; Work closely with hospital staff and management to improve hospital conditions for people on dialysis and with transplants; Support the British Transplant Games; Participate at the National Kidney Federation’s annual conference.   Examples of what we do throughout the year: We participate in the World Kidney Day - 2nd Thursday in March, raising awareness of kidney disease and fundraising so that we can support renal patients and renal research; promote the British Transplant Games which take place at the end of July, representing the patients interests in the recent reorganisation of renal services in West London. We also actively participate in raising awareness during Organ Donation Week which takes place in September every year.
