The 2nd St. Ives Sea Scout group, are a branch of the scouting movement that specialises in water activities.  We offer a full program of activities for children aged from 6 – 18 with the summer months given over to water based activities (Kayaking, Canoeing, Rafting, Sailing and Bell boating) and the winter months following a more traditionally based scouting programme.

We meet on Holt Island, in an old Pathfinder Hut which has been the meeting point for 2nd St.Ives Sea Scouts for over 60 years. In the late 19th Century the Borough council decided that a place should be established for controlled bathing and an outdoor swimming pool was built on the western end of Holt Island which we now use for a number of the water activities we offer.

With a dedicated team of leaders we are able to offer Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer meetings throughout the week, with the many of the leaders making up the activity team which allows us to offer similar activities to other scouting and guiding groups as well as youth organisations over the weekends and some evenings.

With now over 90 children making up the group, we aim to try and provide as many opportunities and experiences as possible to give them a chance to attempt things which they may not have the opportunity to participate in.

For us to be able to continue to offer these opportunities to our members and to maintain our fantastic facilities we require help.
