Foyle Down Syndrome Trust promotes the development of a culture to encourage and enable children with Down Syndrome to live full, independent and productive lives. See our website for more information on upcoming events.

We provide an innovative and groundbreaking approach to the educational and social inclusion of children and young people with Down Syndrome, who are disadvantaged through the disabling attitudes in society.

In addition to providing One to One Home Education ensuring that the children are able to cope with mainstream school, we carry out Social and Personal Development activities as follows:

Early Years Group (0-5 years) - Music, movement, drama and art programmes are organised to help develop the children's social skills and to enable them to interact with their peers.

6-12 year group - All social programmes are practiced in carefully structured and organised environments. Previous social programmes include arts and crafts, drama and music classes.

13-25 year group - This social programme promotes social development and independent living skills through activities such as cookery, first aid training, drama, outdoor pursuits and dance. Some courses offered lead to recognised accreditation.
