Hands On Hand Out
Who we are
Hands on hands out.
Where the story began
in 2015 I volunteered for Crisis at Christmas and it became very real how many people were homeless and how they needed help. After this experience I had many sleepless nights and thought people are homeless every day not just at Christmas.
On the first day of volunteering I had made my mind up that I would do something on my own. My aim was to go out on the streets of London and give our homeless friends clothes, food, toiletries and conversation. It became very clear when looking round the room at crisis at meal time that this could happen to any one of us at any time. They say we are all 3 wage packets away from homelessness it is a very scary thought!
We are all so lucky waking up in a warm bed, eating whenever we feel hungry, being able to bath/shower everyday the list is endless. Just one act of kindness, just one small conversation letting someone know you care, actually giving someone the time of day can really uplift and make that person feel that they are not always invisible and unimportant.
We started going out on the streets once a month and now we now cover Euston and kings cross every Sunday on foot and we are building relationships with all of our homeless friends. Making sure they are warm enough, supplying them with clothes, food, hot and cold drinks, sleeping bags, toiletries and much more. We also feed many of their dogs too.
On the third Sunday of every month we do a static outreach where we set up next to Euston station and all our homeless friends come to us where they eat hot food and can help themselves to all of the donations we have been given. We also offer haircuts and warm foot spas. They usually stay with us for a chat and a laugh and have also built friendships with each other which is so important for them so they can look out for each other on the streets.
We rely on donations of clothes and toiletries etc to keep us going. A lot of people find they don't have time to go out shopping and drop off the donations to us so we have set up this page so they can donate money instead.
On our Facebook page we always take photos of what the money has gone towards keeping everyone up to date on what we are doing. Please kindly like our page and help spread the word with your friends. https://www.facebook.com/HandsonHandout/

Our homeless friends are so very grateful for everything how big or small we give them. Help brighten up someone's day.
Remember these people are someone's Mother, Farther, Nan, Grandad, Son , Daughter and so on. Every body matters whatever their situation or circumstance.
Our drop off points are based in Enfield and Waltham abbey so if you are local please message us on the Facebook page and we can tell you which is nearer to you.
Thank you in advance
