Since 1975, Tanzania Development Trust has been changing lives in Tanzania’s poorest communities by helping provide clean water, agricultural support, education, solar power, healthcare, and new and improved livelihoods.
EVERY POUND RECEIVED IN DONATIONS IS SPENT ON PROJECTS
We have more than 40 years’ successful experience of working with project partners on small-scale projects in the poorest areas. Run entirely by volunteers in the UK and Tanzania, with no admin or fund-raising costs, we can truly say that every pound raised goes to projects in Tanzania.
We fund clean water for villages; maize mills so women don’t trudge 20 km with heavy loads; vocational training in building, tailoring and IT; start-up business projects like fish-farming and bee-keeping, textbooks and science equipment for secondary schools, and hostels to ensure that girls can continue their studies safely and successfully.
We know all our projects and we can tell our donors down to the nearest village, exactly where their money goes and who is benefiting. This makes TDT an ideal partner for fundraisers who wish to understand the impact of their donations. Donors like Ruth Harvey and Dan Wells, who raised more than £2,000 by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in December 2018.
"Tanzania Development Trust is a great match for what we are trying to achieve" – Ruth Harvey
