Who we are

PLEASE NOTE: Virgin Money Giving will no longer accept donations as from 30 November 2021. Please head to our new fundraising

For children in Sierra Leone, education is not always an easy thing to come by. But for children with hearing impairments, it’s even harder.

St Joseph’s school provides children with the opportunity they need to take their rightful place within society, through an education which brings the chance for a brighter future.

For over 30 years, the school has provided children on the very margins of society the chance to go to school – despite war, Ebola, and the daily challenges of operating in one of the world's poorest countries. Our students, staff and teachers strive to challenge the stigma of hearing impairment, not just at school but across the wider community.

Though the school receives some teaching salaries from the government of Sierra Leone, much of the day to day cost of running St Joseph's is funded through the generous donations of supporters like you.
