The Mirogi Village Foundation is a project overseen by the Media Diversity Institute, to support one small impoverished village in Kenya called Mirogi.

The foundation’s focus is on helping the children in the village through supporting a small orphanage, as well widowed parents, and buying school uniforms and paying schools fees. It also helps disabled adult villagers and those suffering from health problems.

A longer term aim of the foundation is to build a well for clean water in the village.

The organisation is very small and is run by two brothers, Andy and Farid, on a voluntary basis and as a result has no administration costs associated with it. Keeping the scale small means that things are easy to manage and that 100% of donations to the Mirogi Village Foundation go directly to support the village.

For more information and background about the foundation please see ‘The Mirogi Village Foundation Story’ link in the menu on the left.
