Who we are
“To alleviate Poverty, Sickness and Social Injustice for some of the world's most deprived communities by providing aid and liberation”
Moonlight Trust is a growing charity, founded by Noushin Raja in memory of her brother Moon. Starting from providing support for homeless and food banks in UK, the charity has now delivered critical aid for some of the most deprived communities across the globe especially refugees in Greece, Turkey, Serbia, France, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Middle-East ranging from sponsoring boat rescue missions at the Greek isand of Lesvos, providing emergency supplies such as baby milk, nappies, food, clothing, medical aid and support for educational and employment needs in refugee camps to building shelters for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The projects delivered were sufficiently cost-effective as £40,000 was raised for Rohingya refugees only and 100% of this was spent on aid. All of the projects were delivered by volunteer staff including students and professionals from all backgrounds.
Our message is being one unified human race to support the biggest humanitarian crisis happening around the world. We believe in raising awareness of the plight of refugees, and calling people to action in supporting them. Over 5000 people have engaged in our community campaigning events and workshops including Schools, Universities and local community organisations.
Moonlight Trust continues to advance it's mission to brighten lives through eradication of poverty and promoting diversity and togetherness through community events and workshops. Over 5,000 people have engaged in our community awareness campaigns and activity. Our message is to be one unified human race to create a safer world where everyone has the opportunity to live and thrive with basic human rights, dignity and respect.
Though the charity was born from tragedy, today it is known for its tremendous humanitarian work and the quality of it’s projects for helping most vulnerable in our communities at home and across the globe especially refugees fleeing war and persecution.
Please help us to put smile on those faces who feel most forgotten!
