History of Morley College London

Morley is an adult education college based in London close to Waterloo Station. The drive and vision of social reformer Emma Cons and the support of industrialist, philanthropist and statesman Samuel Morley saw Morley’s establishment in 1880’s. Initially based at the Old Vic Theatre, Cons organised host weekly ‘penny lectures’, in which eminent scientists would address the public on a wide range of topics such as ‘The Telephone’, ‘Light and Colour’ and Yankee Humour’.

Morley today

Morley continues to provide accessible and lifelong learning to help people realise their potential. Morley is a place where ambitions are achieved through learning be it for reasons of general interest, academic progression or career development and change. Supporting Morley helps us continue to provide outstanding learning opportunities and an outstanding student experience.
