Since 1957 Phab has enabled children, young people and adults with and without disabilities to “make more of life together”, through local Phab Clubs, holiday projects, wheelchair accessible holiday homes, our work in schools and events for members.

Our 140 Clubs across England and Wales, with 8,000 members, make a real difference to the lives of people with disabilities of all ages and uniquely welcome people of all abilities - with siblings, friends and whole families joining in.  Local Phab Clubs make a real and lasting impact on social and family isolation, reducing loneliness of individual members, improving mental and physical well-being, and increasing confidence, self-esteem and independence for all involved.  "Phab has given me a huge part of my life back - I have learned to live and have fun with my life as it is now", "Before I joined Phab I was lonely and now I have met lots of new friends", "Phab gives us a great chance to do things as a family that we wouldn't be able to do and meet other families in similar situations".

Phab's Inclusive Living Experience Projects enable disabled or disadvantaged children and young adults aged 8 to 30 to enjoy the same challenges and experiences as non-disabled people as they take on a range of exciting activities at fully accessible outdoor activity centres in the New Forest and Lake District. Supported by Phab volunteers and carers, the children and young people build their confidence, independence and self-belief whilst learning new practical and personal skills and just having great fun together.  This is what some of them have said: "I went caving and it was super cool", "The Project made me smile inside and out", "Climbing the wall using my arms and legs was a big achievement", "This has made me realise I can do more for myself and don't need to rely on my carers so much".

Our two wheelchair accessible holiday homes at Waterside Holiday Park and Spa at Weymouth, Dorset, enable families to have a much needed break away together, confident that both accommodation and the great facilities at Waterside will meet all their needs.

And our long standing work engaging with young people continues, with the number of Phab Clubs or holiday projects  led by students in schools, and also at universities, growing each year.  So even more young people, whatever their ability, can meet and have fun together and with students taking this very special experience into their future lives and communities.
