Who we are

A neighbourhood development plan establishes general planning policies for the development and use of land in a neighbourhood, like:
where new homes and offices should be built
what they should look like
The plan can be detailed or general, depending what local people want.

Poole Quays Forum (PQF) is a local community organisation that developed a Neighbourhood Plan for the area of Poole Old Town and Hamworthy East. It was formally adopted by the Borough of Poole on 9th July 2013. The Forum’s Objectives are to promote for the benefit of the public in the Neighbourhood Area:

  1. The protection, preservation, improvement and revitalisation of the built environment;
  2. High standards of architecture and town planning;
  3. The provision or improvement of public amenities, open spaces and recreational facilities for the public at large or those who have need of them by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances.

PQF want to make the area a better place to live, work and play.

PQF relies on donations for its running costs, without which it would not be able to represent local residents and workers views to the planning process.

Donations are greatly valued and appreciated.
