The Ridley Eye Foundation's mission is to give people regardless of race, religion or political stance their human right to sight by treating avoidable blindness.

The Ridley Eye Foundation was founded by Sir Harold Ridley who pioneered modern cataract surgery by inventing the intra ocular lens. This has enabled millions of people worldwide to be able see again.

We specialise in cataract surgery and we are supporting The Harpur Memorial Hospital in Menouf, Cairo. With your help we aim to expand our work to those that need it, concentrating on the poorer regions in the world. The Eye Foundations work centres on training surgeons and nurses to undertake sustainable cataract surgery.

At least 50 % of the world blindness is due to cataracts which is now very treatable with a simple and life changing operation.

Your donation can transform a life in darkness into light. Please donate today.

Thank you.
