The primary focus of The Rumba Foundation is to financially support research which will benefit both animal and human health.
Over the past 4 years, The Rumba Foundation has raised £90,000 and we have focussed specifically on the research and treatment of cancerous tumours.

A substantial proportion of our funds was used to purchase a live image X-Ray machine called a C-Arm which is now being used on a daily basis at the new Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology and Soft Tissue Hospital in Guildford, Surrey as part of the treatment of cancerous tumours in animals.

This is the project of Supervet, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick who is a huge advocate of One Health which is the generic term referring to the sharing of research between doctors and vets.  The results from this ground-breaking approach are being shared with doctors at Royal Surrey Hospital who are using an identical piece of equipment on human patients so the joint research is making accelerated progress in treating tumours.  The Rumba Foundation C-Arm is now the busiest in the UK.
