Cheltenham Minster Bells
Homepage
Cheltenham Minster is the oldest building in Cheltenham. In 2017 the old bells were replaced with a magnificent new 13 bells with a tenor weight of just over 21 hundredweight (over 1 tonne). The frame was replaced with a brand new one, five old bells were sold on and the rest were recycled into the new bells. They are now all on one level and consist of 12 bells plus a sharp 2nd so that we have a light front eight. The new bells will have to be maintained to a high standard so that they can be rung for the next 200 years.
