The Access Project
Who we are
At The Access Project (TAP) we help teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds at our partner schools overcome the three main barriers which prevent them from accessing top universities; lower grade attainment, a lack of confidence, and a lack of advice to support their applications. We do this through a structured 4 year programme of one-to-one tuition with trained volunteer tutors and in-school mentoring with a University Access Officer.
We know this works for young people. Recent independent analysis from UCAS shows that teenagers on our programme are four times as likely to win a place at top third universities as similarly disadvantaged students like them.
“Before I was a part of The Access Project, I would never have thought about applying to a top university. But now I realise I’m good enough.” James, a 15-year-old TAP student who joined the programme last year.
The students on our programme are remarkable young people– your generous support can help teenagers like James reach their potential and transform their lives.
