Who we are
Wings Like Eagles helps to provide helicopters and air coordination support to provide rapid lifesaving disaster relief in southern Africa, starting in Mozambique.
Natural disasters are frequent in this region and, immediately after starting in 2007, we have helped deliver emergency relief. Where we work, history says about 500,000 people can be affected by disasters each year.
We aim to respond quickly because that is when most lives can be saved. We aim to get the right to the right people so lives can be sustained. We aim to provide access for all people, so that all can be helped. For example, flying news film crews can publicise a disaster and so can help all aid agencies to fund raise.
We last deployed in Feb 2013. We sustained 3 villages hit by flooding in the Limpopo valley in Mozambique. We also provided access for the Interior Minister, the Deputy Education Minister and the World Bank so they could target resources properly. For a bit of our history, see "what we have done" on this site.
If you are thinking of giving, you might like to read "what we seek to do" on this site. We have also posted extracts of all our Annual Reports so that you can easily see that our actions match our words.
