We support people across Berkshire who are diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65. Our aim is to help them to live well with their dementia.

It is estimated that there are over 42,000 people across the UK living with working-age dementia at a time in their lives when many are in the midst of their career, with family and financial responsibilites.

The needs of younger people with dementia (under 65 years of age) and their carers differ greatly from older people as the pattern, progression and burden of illness are all different, which is where we come in.

We have an innovative approach to respite care.  As well as our one to one service, we run a series of age appropriate workshops duringthe working week which offer meaningful activity for those with working-age dementia.  Each session or workshop is tailor-made to the individuals who attend and this enables people to continue to enjoy participating in activities, being involved in the community and maintaining skills.

Our workshops run on a rolling programme of six weeks to try to accommodate everybody's interests.  They have included physical activities such as dancing, running and katacanoeing as well as gardening, climbing, photography and local history.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our page and for helping us to help those with a diagnosis to live well with their dementia.
