Team story

[p]Humble Maltsters are a team of work mates from Simpsons Malt Ltd with a guest brewer who all love cycling and wanted to undertake the Ride London 100 in memory of a colleague who sadly died at a young age from Pancreatic Cancer. [/p][p]Since Peter Simpson lost his battle with this devastating disease we have always wanted to do something within the company to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK and as he was a keen cyclist himself and loved London this was the fitting challenge to undertake.[/p][p]Humble Maltsters Training Updates[/p][p]April - David completed the MOD rocker sportive Easter weekend, 66 miles with 6500ft of climbing including a 25% spike in 4 hours 15mins, amazing weather, road conditions and scenery, well worth doing! Jamie - just back from America and has done very little. A few training rides now done and the Rutland Cicle on the 27th (60miles). Don - Majorcan training camp didn’t quite work out, way too cold, however he’s managed to get some miles in over the weekends [gt]100 over Sat/Sun. He has signed up for the Tour de Lauder on 27th Distance: 89 miles. Total Ascent: 6143 ft. Alison - a few more miles in since holidays with the Scottish Highlands to look forward to for Etape Loch Ness on 28th, 66 miles.[/p][p]March - Last couple of weekends training has been hard work with headwinds to work against along with sleet. David joined some ex rugby players to ride a leg of their JOGLE challenge in aid of MND for the Doddie5 charity. Lighter nights now starting so hoping to drop the spinning bikes and get out on roads. All signed up for various sportives and challenges throughout year so will be in top form for Ride London in August.[/p]
