My story

[p]Hi [/p][p]Some of you may know I had Large B cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2004 and I was fortunate to have surgery and chemotherapy which gave me the opportunity to run these 2 runs this year. I know I am slightly late to the giving something back but I have vowed now to try and raise money every year to a charity that is close to my heart.[/p][p]Please read a little about Lymphoma Action;[/p][p]We are the UK's only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the 5th most common cancer. We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our mission is to make sure no one faces lymphoma alone. [/p][p]We inform you with trusted information, endorsed by medical experts, to help and empower you to fully understand the complexities of lymphoma.[/p][p]We support you at every step, providing advice and reassurance tailored to your individual experience. From symptom awareness through diagnosis, treatment and beyond, we’re here to help. We also support doctors and nurses to deliver the best possible treatment and care.[/p][p]We connect you to leading lymphoma expertise, and to those going through a similar experience, to make sure you’re not alone.[/p][p]Facts about lymphoma:[/p][p]Every 27 minutes someone is diagnosed with lymphoma in the UK. That’s around 19,500 people every year.[/p][p]It is the UK’s fifth most common cancer.[/p][p]Around 125,000 people in the UK are living with lymphoma.[/p][p]Lymphoma is most prevalent in people over the age of 55 but is also the most frequently diagnosed cancer among younger people.[/p][p]There are no known causes of lymphoma.[/p][p]Lymphoma is a complex disease. There are two main types – non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Hodgkin lymphoma - with over 60 different sub-types. There are also many different forms (aggressive and chronic) which makes diagnosis and treatment difficult. [/p][p]Symptoms of lymphoma include a lump in the neck, armpit or groin; feeling worn out for no reason, unexplained weight loss, excessive sweating at night, constant itching for no reason. [/p][p]Please help me support Lymphoma action by donating what you can,[/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to read this.[/p][p]Stay Strong People [/p][p]Paul [/p][p][br][/p]
