Team story

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p]Thank you for reaching our Virgin Giving page![/p][p]What are we doing??[/p][p]On the 16th June we’ll be setting off to try and achieve “The fastest journey from Lands End to John O’Groats by triplet bicycle”. Departing from Land’s End in the south west corner of Cornwall, arriving in John O’Groats in the north east corner of Scotland. [/p][p]The journey will see us attempt to cover 1,000 miles and 30,000 feet of climbing in just 6 days! [/p][p]A tough ask on a solo bike for even the keenest cyclists - let alone three underprepared amateurs on a triplet bicycle (think tandem with an extra seat)! [/p][p]If we complete the route as planned, we will hold not only sore arses but the current Guinness World Record for the journey by triplet bike (currently a time of 6 days and 13 hours).[/p][p]Why are we doing this? [/p][p]The three of us have undertaken a similar challenge before; back in 2016 we cycled the length of France from Calais to Nice. Our first real fundraising effort. [/p][p]Although a challenging experience, we also found it to be one of the most rewarding. Truly humbled by all your support and generosity, we now feel ready to take on another. [/p][p]Through this, we feel hugely proud to raise funds for people less fortunate than ourselves.[/p][p]We’ve chosen three charities that we feel are all doing amazing work towards a great cause, helping disadvantaged or vulnerable young people.[/p][p][br][/p][p]1. The NSPCC[/p][p]The biggest charity in the country for tackling child abuse and helping those affected to recover.[/p][p]2. The Early Birth Association[/p][p]Run by volunteers, offering help and support to families in need by providing for babies or parents on the ward or even funding research and life saving equipment.[/p][p]3. The Lord’s Taverners[/p][p]Dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance. They offer the opportunity to learn new skills, interact with other people and improved health and confidence.[/p][p][br][/p][p]The three of us are hugely grateful for the opportunities we’ve had over the years and feel strongly that everyone should be afforded a chance to enjoy the simple things. [/p][p]If you’re still reading, thank you! We appreciate it's ‘fundraising season’ but if you’ve got any spare change whatsoever to donate to these great charities we’d honestly be hugely appreciative, however big or small your donation. We look forward to keeping you posted as we go and bringing you along with us on this journey![/p][p]Thank you all for your generosity,[/p][p]Jamie, Rob and Alex[/p]
