[p]I have decided to walk 73 miles in the Isle of Wight in September with a tumble drier on my back! The realso I'm doing this is to support a very special charity. To read more about Charlie's Beach Hut please read his story below:[/p][p]Copied and pasted from his website www.charliecodling.co.uk [/p][p]March 2012 our wonderful son Charlie Codling was suddenly diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an incurable brain tumour. Devastatingly after only 5 months, Charlie passed away on 6 September 2012, just 2 weeks before his 5th birthday.[/p][p]We were fortunate to be surrounded by so many amazing friends and family who not only gave us their unwavering support but they also raised a staggering amount of money which helped us forge some wonderful memories with Charlie.[/p][p]Inspired by Charlie’s love for life, strength, humour and caring nature, we followed his lead and were steadfast in our determination to put a smile on his face with each day we had left with him so were always able to ‘Find the Wonderful in Today’ which we have now adopted as our family motto.[/p][p]As a fitting memorial to Charlie, we decided to start the charity: Charlie’s Beach Hut Fund.[/p][p]Charlie’s, is a beach hut style caravan at Perran Sands in Perranporth which aims to provide families of children with life limiting illnesses and families of fire-fighters that have suffered bereavement, or life changing injury whilst in the line of duty, a relaxing environment so they can forge some forever memories, in a hope that they too can ‘Find the Wonderful in Today’.[/p][p]If you have a fundraising idea or you want to find out more about Charlie’s incredible journey then please email us at the contacts page.[/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to visit Charlie’s page.[/p][p]Steve, Karen, Freya, Isla and a very Twinkly Star x[/p]
