My story

[p]Hey there deep pockets, [/p][p]I’m doing a marathon and any donation you can manage, big or large, will really make the dark, lonely training months all the more worthwhile.[/p][p]It’s all in honour of the mighty Shea French-Gibbens[/p][p]Ruthless film critic. Supremely gifted writer. Devoted Manchester Utd fan (you can’t have it all, Shea). There’re a handful of people you meet in life who help you do it better. Those people who are doing such a grand job, you’re left with no choice but to sit up and take note. Shea was one of those guys.[/p][p]Tragically he was taken from us far too early, after his second bout of cancer. He was only 18. [/p][p]But in 18 years, he achieved remarkable things and was loved by all who had the good fortune of meeting him. We miss you big guy x [/p][p]All of your donations go to The South London Special League[/p][p]Shea had quadriplegic cerebral palsy and The South London Special League gave Shea, and others like him, the opportunity to play sports they otherwise wouldn’t have access to. I know he got so much out of playing wheelchair football for the charity - he’d make sure to remind me he was the league’s top scorer at any given chance! Take a look at all the work they're doing on their website: https://slsl2013.wordpress.com/about/. [/p][p]Shea's in the second video down with his mum, Viv. If you've got time, he'll do a much better job than I can of explaining how the charity transformed his life, and how it keeps transforming others.[/p][p]Please give what you can, it really goes a long way. [/p][p]Cheers for reading, and maybe see you in Brighton! X[/p]
