[p]HELLO! 👋🏼[/p][p]Thank you for visiting our page![/p][p]In memory of our much loved young neighbour who was supported by ‘Wirral Mind,’ and who sadly passed away Monday 18th May 2020 ('Mental Health Awareness Week'), and in support of many others who are battling 'mental health' challenges, we at D K JOINERY - Wirral, will be taking on a 1,000k + cycling challenge and fundraising in support of Mind. [/p][p]1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.[/p][p]In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.[/p][p]Mind have recently put out an emergency appeal for donations due to an increase in mental health challenges. With so much social unrest in recent months, over 60% of the UK feel that their mental health has worsened. Between the end of March to the end of April, Mind's Info-Line saw a 46% increase in requests for support, and their digital peer support platform, Elefriends, has seen around a 40% increase in new members versus pre-coronavirus levels.[/p][p]From recent research, it appears that how people cope with mental health problems is getting worse as the number of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts is increasing.[/p][p]That's why charities like Mind are a necessary support system. They can inform, support and raise awareness so people don't have to struggle alone.[/p][p][br][/p][p]HOW WILL WE ACHIEVE THIS?[/p][p]We will be aiming to attain a target of 1,000k + (621.371 + miles) by the end of Aug 2020 by cycling across the Wirral or cycling on our spinning bike on inclement days! [/p][p][br][/p][p]FOLLOW OUR PROGRESS![/p][p]Download the Strava app and follow our progress to see how we're doing. We would love your support and encouragement to meet our target of 1,000k + by the end of Aug 2020![/p][p]Follow us here on Strava![/p][p]Or see brief stats and progress below;[/p][p][br][/p][p]June1st - 28th:[/p][p]• Week 1 - 153.7 km (95.5 m) [/p][p]• Week 2 - 83.3 km (51.7 m) = 237 km (147.2 m)[/p][p]• Week 3 - 99.5 km (61.8m) = 336.7 km (209.2 m)[/p][p]•Week 4 - 214.2 km (133.09 m) = 550.9 km (342.31 m)[/p][p][br][/p][p]June 29th - July 17th 2020:[/p][p]• Week 5 - 210.5 km (130.79 m) = 762.5 km (473.79 m)[/p][p]•Week 6 - 137.3 km (85.31 m) = 900.5 km (559.54 m)[/p][p]•Week 7 - 113.72 k (31.13 m) = 1,014.22 km (630.20 m)[/p][p][br][/p][p]🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅[/p][p] 1,014.22 km (630.20 miles) 🚴💨 [/p][p]COMPLETED ON 17th July 2020 🥳 [/p][p]🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅[/p][p][br][/p][p]OUR FUNDRAISER STRAVA STATS & FUN FACTS![/p][p][br][/p][p]Apparently, our 1,014.22 k (630.20 m) is the equivalent to riding from Edinburgh ➡?
