My story

[p]Well I’m 50 miles in and it hurts. My thighs think I’ve gone mad. Whoever invented racing saddles is nuts, or never wanted kids! [/p][p]First picture of me on the bike - still no training! Gulp![/p][p]You will by now have seen that the Prudential London Surrey 100 Bike Ride set for mid-August has been cancelled because of Covid19 and replaced by a virtual event. So, in the best traditions of doing something completely nuts, I'm taking part. I would never have managed to cycle 100 miles from London to Surrey, but at least I can do some freestyle stuff and raise some cash for both Rainy Day Trust and Evie's Gift. As it is freestyle, I am going to borrow Paul Winchcombe's professional training spinning bike thingy, and start at 0800 on Sunday 16 August and ride until I can't ride any more or just fall off - [/p][p]and no training in advance[/p][p]!! I would hope to be able to cover all 100 miles of the original, but we'll see - I have a feeling that I'm going to need lots of padding...... it should take about 8 hours.[/p][p][br][/p][p]I haven't ridden a bike in 40 years, so this is going to be interesting. Just to spice it up a bit,[/p][p] I'm going to ride in full hiking kit including a loaded backpack weighing 30lbs! [/p][p] [/p][p][br][/p]
