[p][b]NEXT: Team BDB will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks! We've got our hiking boots at the ready and will be heading for the hills on Saturday 10th October 2020. Sponsor us now![/b][/p][p]We are raising money for a local charity, [url=http://www.seashelltrust.org.uk/]Seashell Trust[/url]. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Based in Cheadle Hulme, Seashell Trust provides support to children and young adults with complex and severe learning disabilities. One of Seashell Trust’s important values is that communication underpins everything it does – a phrase that we often use at BDB, too. Which is why our fundraising efforts this year will focus on helping Seashell Trust to build its assistive technology resources. This equipment is essential to teaching the students independence and encouraging them to interact with others. In the past, a 3D printer and sensory equipment have proved effective in furthering the students’ abilities. [/p][p]In addition to the ad hoc support we've provided the Seashell Trust in the three years we've been working together, the BDB team has also taken part in the following since the beginning of 2017:[/p][p]Swimathon: we kicked off 2017 with a great effort from our resident swimmers![/p][p]Great Manchester Run took place on 28 May 2017, where an eight-strong team took on the Business Challenge. [b]UPDATE: we won the 'Female small business' category![/b][/p][p]The Colour Run on Saturday 1st July 2017- a fun and messy race.[/p][p]Rough Runner on 21st October 2017 - an obstacle course challenge inspired by games shows. [/p][p]Sports Days at the Seashell Trust facilities throughout 2017, 2018 and 2019. [/p][p]While the start of 2020 didn't quite go to plan, we can't wait to end the year with a bang with our exciting calendar of activity - watch this space![/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Seashell. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. [/p]
