My story

[p]Dave Martin and Steve Morrow embarked on an epic 380 mile cycle challenge from London to Amsterdam in June in aid of raising as much money as they can for the wonderful MS Trust Charity.[/p][p]More than 100,000 people have Multiple Sclerosis.[/p][p]There aren’t enough specialist MS nurses to fully support those 108,000 people.[/p][p]It’s not right and it’s not fair.[/p][p]The MS Trust is doing all it can to address this issue.[/p][p]We want to make our own contribution.[/p][p]We want to raise enough money from our families and friends to pay for a specialist MS nurse for a month. That’ll make a real difference to the lives of dozens of people with MS.[/p][p]As well as offering direct support and clinical advice, an MS nurse connects people to other appropriate services, such as a doctor or a therapist. They’re a bit like the MS version of McMillan Nurses, but with a bit less profile.[/p][p]The first MS nurses were appointed in the early 1990s. Today there are about 250 MS nurses around the UK. But that means there is a real shortage in some areas. Which means some people with MS get short-changed.[/p][p]In the next year, the MS Trust wants to create and pay for another 6 of these MS nurses. We would like you to support us to help them.[/p][p]A donation from you will make a real difference. And as Dave works at the Trust, you have his word that none of the money you give will go to waste.[/p][p]Together, the difference we will make will be significant.[/p]
