My story

[p]Ok folks. I need an incentive to get back on my bike to lose a few pounds. What better way than transferring my pounds into pounds for Woodlarks. I have decided to do a reverse sponsored bike ride (I’ve just made that up!). I will cycle exactly the same number of miles I am sponsored in pounds. I am going to do this ride over the coming weeks, so you only have a little while to add to my journey. I will have witnesses and will post the routes when it’s completed. If you would like to add a few pounds to help me lose a few pounds, please make it clear in the comments that you are adding miles to my ride. Proceeds will go towards the Woodlarks General Fund to pay for things like gas, water, electricity, etc. to help keep camp fees low, subsidising camping holidays for lots of disabled friends. Thanks, Dave[/p][p]UPDATE: I have just learned that the replacement cookhouse Gas Cooker for which we received a donation of £1400 is being returned because it doesn’t quite meet our requirements. The intended new replacement is about twice the cost and the shortfall is to be paid for from the general fund. My cycle challenge was to benefit the general fund anyway, so I am now making this a ride to pay for the other half of the cooker.[/p][p]You will have noticed I have now upped the target and will cycle 1 mile for every pound I raise. Obviously if I raise anywhere near the target, I will not be able to achieve this in one day, so will ride in instalments until the total is reached. [/p][p]I know we have been nagged for sponsorship relentlessly recently (thanks for all donations made!) so I am not looking for people to part with lots of cash. If everyone donated just a pound or two, or even 50p for half a mile, that would be amazing.[/p][p]Thanks, Dave[/p]
