[p]Bristol Rovers Community Trust is the Charity arm of Bristol Rovers Football Club who currently play their football in League 1. [/p][p]At Bristol Rovers Community Trust we offer a range of different projects and opportunities for people to get involved in, and one of these opportunities is our College Education Programme. [/p][p]Unfortunately, due to the current situation our students are unable to attended college on a day to day basis but instead they are all continuing to learn and study remotely through the use of technology. [/p][p]As a Trust, the Education Department have decided to set all our students and staff a challenge of Running, Walking or Cycling a collective 1883 miles over the coming weeks. As well as setting a target of raising £1883 to be split between NHS Charities Together and The Amber Trust.[/p][p]NHS Charities Together[/p][p]NHS Charities Together is a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS’ official charities.[/p][p]The Amber Trust[/p][p]Providing musical opportunities for blind and partially sighted children, and children with more complex needs, via its Music Awards and Music Services.[/p][p]Our reasoning for The Amber Trust is due to a personal link with our Head of Education. Our Head of Education was due to take part in a charity walk raising money for The Amber Trust in celebration of one of his friends 70th Birthday. Unfortunately, due to the current physical distancing rules this walk is now unable to happen, and another fundraising event for The Amber Trust has been lost. As well as this, the person about to celebrate his 70th Birthday has been recalled back into the NHS and will be working in hospital on his birthday. Therefore, we would like to donate half of what we raise to this Charity as they are current losing out on a lot of fundraising opportunities and also as a token of appreciation to a person who will be spending his 70th Birthday working in the NHS to help at this current time.
