[p]Hello all! [/p] [p]Thank you for your interest in supporting my marathon attempt – it’s going to be a lot of hard work and effort, but nothing compared to the strength demonstrated by the two very special people I’m running in support of this year, my mother Trixie and Phoebe’s mum Jude.[/p] [p]Both have very different conditions that require very different support, thankfully Headway is there to provide magnificent help across the board. Be it the nurses they provide at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, who delivery such brilliant care to my mum or via the knowledge, information and support network that has been such a help for Jude and Phoebe’s family in the recent months. Nothing really prepares you for the shock of dealing with such conditions, be it in the aftermath of the diagnosis or in the impact the pain and disability can have upon your family life, thankfully charities like Headway are there to help with that burden. [/p] [p]Through the past 13 years and 20+ brain, nerve and eye operations, my mum has been lucky to receive some of the best possible care and nursing, both in and out of hospital – of which Headway has been such a crucial part. I hope through this marathon effort and the money raised, they can continue to be such a comfort to anyone and everyone in such terrible situations.[/p] [p]Thank you for your support – I will carry it with me around the course! And whenever I’m feeling a little tired and achey along the way, I know it’s nothing compared to the bravery of my two “mums” - they will as ever inspire we along the way![/p] [p][/p] [p]Joe xxx[/p]
