Team story

[p]EMEA Charity Bike Ride Challenge 2018: Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela [/p][p]Employees, clients, sponsors, families and friends will once again be saddling up for CBRE’s ninth annual charity bike ride. The 725km, five day cycle ride will start in Bilbao on 3rd June, before finishing on 7th June at Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain.[/p][p]The route will start at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, before taking in the beautiful landscape of Northern Spain along the famous Camino pilgrimage route, to finish in the historic city and UNESCO world heritage site of Santiago de Compostela. The route will be varied, taking in the rugged Atlantic coastline, before turning inland to tackle some of the infamous climbs of the Vuelta a España and the stunning Lagos de Covadonga.[/p][p]We will once again be raising money for CBRE’s EMEA charity partner, Plan International, supporting some of the poorest children in Africa. Our new programme “Safer Cities” in Nairobi Kenya will focus on transforming cities into places of inclusion, tolerance and opportunity for everyone. Our programme aims to make public and recreational spaces in Nairobi safer and easier to access, especially for adolescent girls who are most at risk and frequently feel intimidated or in danger in public places and on transport where they live. Plan International will be working with young people, families, communities and the government to increase independence and make getting around the city safer, creating life changing opportunities for the most vulnerable in society.[/p][p]We are aiming to raise a target of £20,000. Please give generously to support our cyclists and raise money to create Safer Cities.[/p][p]For more information please visit https://www.cbre.co.uk/about-cbre/corporate-responsibility/latest-campaigns-safer-cities[/p]
