Team story

[p]On the 2nd June 2018, 13 Employees from Fraikin will be attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge. This involves climbing the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Starting at Ben Nevis, then on to Scarfell Pike and finishing with Snowdon. This covers 26 miles (42km) total horizontal distance, 3000m (9843ft) of vertical ascent.[/p][p]We travel to Fort William on the Friday, starting with Ben Nevis on the Saturday morning, then travel to Scarfell Pike to climb that evening, and Finish on Snowdon on Sunday morning in Wales. This is a tough event and people participating should have the necessary fitness and be prepared to do without sleep. We will need to complete Ben Nevis in 5.5 hours, Scarfell Pike in 4.5 hours and Snowdon in 4 hours. The standard measuring for our official total time on the event is the mountain time plus a fixed 10 hour drive.[/p][p]The event is part of a charity initiative which celebrates 40 years in the UK for Fraikin, which opened for business back in 1978. The staff collectively aim to raise a minimum of £40,000 for a variety of charities and good causes during 2018, and this particular event will specifically raise funds for 'The British Lung Foundation', Alopecia UK' and 'Alzheimers Society' The charities were chosen by our team because one of our climbers suffers from Alopecia, another has recently lost a loved one due to a lung illness, and Alzheimers which effects a lot of people, including some of the climbers loved ones, and is a very cruel disease.[/p][p]Please take the time to donate to help us push to complete this We would be grateful of any amount you can spare to help us achieve our event target of £3000.[/p][p][br][/p]
